Club Philosophy
The Charleswood Ski Club encourages people of all ages to appreciate outdoor activities throughout
the year. Recreational skiers of all abilities are welcome, and individual memberships are available
to all.
General information
To participate in these events you must be a Charleswood Ski Club member in good standing.
Members may bring guests to all social events (except Hill, Skill and Food Fill) and 1 day trip.
Trips may be cancelled if insufficient registrations are received by the registration deadline.
All events are NON smoking. No dogs allowed.
Multi-Day Trips (Weekend, Week Long, Multi-day)
Policies for Multi-day Trips
Once a group reservation for accommodation has been negotiated by the Club, members are responsible for contacting the hotel to book and pay for their accommodation. The registration deadline and refund policy are determined by the hotel.
Bus and Weekend Trips are open to Charleswood Ski Club members only.
If a trip is fully booked, members may place their name on a waiting list. The trip leader will contact you if a spot becomes available.
Members must register with the trip leader through Meetup or, if they prefer, directly with the Trip Leader.
Room Cost: 2 Double beds $124, King with pullout $136 (per night based on double occupancy)

Registration: Members book rooms directly with the Canadian Wilderness Inn at 1-204-534-7155.
... If you are looking for a roommate please let the trip leader know and also check the Meetup site.
Please register in Meetup to assist the trip leader with organization and communication. For those looking to book alternate accomodations Camp Koinonia may be an option.

Payment Deadline: Members are responsible for payment directly to the hotel. 48 hour cancellation policy.
Transportation: Your own transportation. Car pooling is encouraged. Contact the Trip Leader for information.
Ski Location: Turtle Mountain Provincial Park (located 18 km south on Hwy 10 )
*Provincial Park Pass required.
Trip Description: 41 Kms of rolling ski trails located at Adams Lake.
Dates: Saturday, March 4 to Saturday, March 11, 2023 (7 nights)
Trails: Excellent variety of groomed trails in provincial and federal parks as well as the Nordic Centre in Canmore.
Accommodation:Canmore Inn & Suites,
Members book their own rooms directly with the hotel. Members are also free to book their own accommodation in local
B and Bs or condos.
Cost: Railside Deluxe Queen Room, 2 queen beds, microwave, mini-fridge $600.00 per week plus taxes
.....Efficiency King room 1 king bed, hide-a-bed, small kitchenette (rail side) 600.00 per week plus taxes.
All room rates are subject to a 4% Alberta Hotel Room Tax, 3% Destination Marketing Fee, and 5% Goods and Services
Tax (GST). Rates quoted are in Canadian Funds and based on single or double occupancy.

Registration Deadline: February 2, 2023, 30 days prior to the arrival date.
Anyone who wishes to book after that date will be subject to availability. All members are required to notify the trip coordinator if they
are going on the trip by email or Meetup. Members who are not staying at the hotel are required to advise the trip coordinator where they are staying and how they can be contacted
during the trip.
Cancellation: No penalty for cancellation.
Transportation: Skiers’ responsibility. A vehicle is required to reach the majority of the ski
trails.
Trip Description: X-country and downhill skiing, as well as snowshoeing in the beautiful Canadian Rockies.

Members are asked to please bring a dish for the Potluck.

Try-Us-Out and Ski Lessons
Try Us Out: Come out and join us for a ski event. This is a great opportunity for potential new members to come out and ski with the club and find out what we are all about. See the Contact page for our email address to arrange to try us out!
Hill and Skill is a group ski lesson provided by CANSI certified instructors at Windsor Park Nordic Centre. The lesson is free and included as part of your membership. Pre-Register for your lesson in Meetup or in person the day of.
Everyone is asked to bring a dessert or snack to share after the lesson.
